How Our Newborn Sessions Work In Studio !
Want to book a newborn session with us but you are unsure on how they work?
When you book a newborn session with us, you use your due date during the booking process. This means that you are on our calendar with a TEMPORARY session date, the date you use at booking is not when your session is. If you have already given birth please contact us via email prior to booking your session. Newborn sessions are typically M-F and start in the morning at 10 AM. If you have already delivered and your baby is a bit older please reach out as we may still be able to photograph as a newborn. Older babies may need different posing or more wrapping vs naked images. .
Typically your session will last 1.5-3 hours in the studio. Please be sure to complete the questionnaire that will be sent over so that we can be sure to have the color pallet and props that you desire for your session with us ! We recommend wearing comfy clothing and light clothing as I keep the studio at 80 degrees for the comfort of the baby. If you have chosen a package that includes family images as well we have an areas to change in so you do not need to stay dressed up for the duration if you don't want to. I will have snacks, drinks and comfort items in the studio for you as well. Once your baby is born I will send over the newborn prep guide for you that explains everything in detail and gives tips on how to dress baby and prepare for the session day! The prep guide will also detail out how things will go during your session and advise what to bring ! Typically I have sessions edited in 2-4 weeks. Depending on the package you choose your gallery will come with those included images. As always your gallery will have more images and if you would like more than the included amount you may purchase from your finished online gallery. If you have any questions in the meantime please don't hesitate to contact me !
All sessions take place in the studio, in props and on the newborn posing bean bag. Most sets are not in studio, rather the sets are added later in post developing in photoshop for safety reasons.
I will be wearing a mask during the session and the studio and all props are sanitized with hospital grade disinfectant between every session. We are now asking that only those needed, attend the session. If this a newborn session only, for example, just the guardian and driver( if needed) will be allowed to attend. All those present and not being photographed will be required to wear a mask while in the studio. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. A pre studio questionnaire will be required as well due to covid.
Depending on your choice of package, most packages come with several elaborate composite images along with studio images of your newborn.
I am an accredited newborn photographer and have completed the necessary safety courses, posing courses, newborn behavior and mentoring courses to ensure that safety is a number one priority.
